Hyper Realistic Solid Chocolate Baby Heads! MUST SEE!!!

One thing I am passionate about with this crazy Eat Your Heart Out business is to continue to push the limits of edible art – well get the cake makers to push the limits to be precise – and create things which have never been seen before. These incredible baby heads from Conjurer’s Kitchen a case in point. I also think it is this ethos which leads to the creation of viral marketing, PR & advertising stunts – such as the Resident Evil Human Butchery – when doing my proper job as a freelance creative director.

A private commission (that’s all we can say), they are solid white chocolate baby heads, and the same size as the head of your average newborn baby. They also  TERRIFY me! As I was tweeting earlier there is something SO disturbing about these heads but I just can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s as they have no body, or maybe it’s just as they are a baby’s head?!? Either way I am so proud to be heading up a movement which leads to the creation of amazing edible works of art just like these.  We’ll be using them in a project very soon I am sure!!!

Rip Your Heart Out Cupcakes

And there you have it – yet more proof that the Valentine’s Day pop up for EYHO will be a million miles away from traditional ‘romantic’ cupcakes. In fact I am thinking of banning pink, just how we ban spiders, witches, hats, broomsticks etc from the normal EYHO Halloween events. These incredible cupcakes are from new EYHOer Kay Gajra. Having had my heart ripped out and stomped on more times that I can remember (hence the Love Will Tear Us Apart tattoo) these have really struck a chord with me. Also I love the idea of using strong graphics as ‘romantic’ cupcake toppers not fluffy traditional Valentine’s Day nonsense!

Anatomical ‘Love Heart’ Macarons

More shaped macaron genius from the one, the only, Miss Insomnia Tulip. The valentine’s day pop up is going to be amazing… The homeware, art, cards and gifts are shaping up brilliantly too :-D

3D Anatomical Heart Cookie (and more)

As many of you already know in response to popular demand there will be an Eat Your Heart Out pop up store in February this year on the 7th, 8th & 9th February, London (it’s actually the first event in a series which I will be doing with Emily Evans but more of that soon)…

This stage of any project is always really exciting so wanted to share some of the edible concepts we have had in so far. This 3D heart cookie from Made With Love By Me / Hannah Glennerster is one of them. It is a three-dimensional interactive maple syrup anatomical heart cookie which has been airbrushed, royal iced and hand-painted. The top cookie comes off to reveal the inner workings of the heart on the bottom cookie which is also a space where you can store a message for your loved one. I see this  piece as a romantic extreme fortune cookie!

And there’s more… Miss Insomnia Tulip has come up with this incredible Heart of Stone made from oreo fudge with sugar blood.

From Miss Insomnia Tulip

The big difference between this event and previous ones is that with Emily on board we’ll be branching out into craft, homewares and art for the first time so it’s a one stop shop for all those who are bored by the saccarine valentines offering and / or pink. We already have some amazing people on board some picks shown below.

Giselle’s Bleeding Heart Brooch from Etsy user AllThingsOdd – being a rubbish ‘shop keeper’ I’ve already mentally bought one of these

Colour dipped anatomical heart necklaces from Etsy user CBDahlia

Anatomical ‘black heart’ necklaces from Etsy user CBDahlia

Chocolate artist Cake for Breakfast will also be making anatomically correct heart lollipop and solid 100% anatomically correct sold chocolate hearts weighing in at 1lb. Awesome already right and this is just the start!

We’re still on the look out for new artists and bakers so drop me a line if interested – emmylou.cakehead@gmail.com

Anatomical Danish Pastries

Miss Insomnia Tulip said she got bored making pretty cakes so tried her hand at these anatomical Danish patries – I simply adore how how her work is always trying something new and pushing boundaries.
