I am pretty sure these urgh but medically correct cupcakes from Sarah Hardy will be one of the top sellers at EYHO this year. Educational and gross it’s hard to think of a better Halloween cupcake, and besides spiders, witches, cats, pumpkins, ghost and all the other cake decorating cliches are banned!
Another amazing creation for Eat Your Heart Out, this time from the Conjurer’s Kitchen – WOW is all I have to say.
Based on various real Anatomical Veni, and the final addition to the Cake for Breakfast Chocolate Victorian Pharmacy, is this AMAZING creation from Chris. Approx. 750g of white high quality chocolate; for sale as a set in a limited edition at Eat Your Heart Out 2012. Contact Cake for Breakfast to find our more or order directly. A text book example of where confectionery becomes art, am not sure I could bear to eat her.
More inspired cake pops from Miss Insomnia Tulip >> as usual ridiculously good. This set of four is inspired by ‘Women in Horror’, Blair Witch is my favourite if I had to choose.
Call me strange as I love cakes, but am not a massive fan of icing, which makes this red blood cell red velvet treat on sale at Eat Your Heart Out by Denise Bakes Cakes my kind of cupcake.
Cake for Breakfast have created this range of edible authentic Victorian pharmacy items for sale at Eat Your Heart Out. I adore the attention to detail in these plus I know all their chocolate tastes delicious. I have not seen anything like this before – a really unique take on our anatomical theme.
Carbuncle Bars sound utterly delicious >> all butter Shortbread topped with Clotted Cream Fudge, finished with chocolate, maltesers and jelly sweets. From the one and only Miss Insomnia Tulip. So good I don’t care if we get sued by *the brand that shall not be named*.
Now for the educational part:
A carbuncle an abscess larger than a boil, usually with one or more openings draining pus onto the skin. It is usually caused by bacterial infection, most commonly Staphylococcus aureus. The infection is contagious and may spread to other areas of the body or other people.
Sounds delicious and looks even better. Not!!!
Now I am never going to forget what a carbuncle is after seeing these images are you? A gross way to prove the educational point of Eat Your Heart Out. Now if you excuse me I need to be sick.
Nicola Shipley of Tattoo Cakes has created EYHO this incredible set of 12 cupcakes, each with a hand painted topper inspired by vintage medical illustrations. Perfectly at home in the pathology museum then, and yep of course they will be on sale. Still working out if to sell in boxes of 12, 6 (two whole sets) or individually. What do you think?
These chocolate skulls from Two Little Cats Bakery will be on sale at EYHO on a pre order basis only priced at £50 each. Life sized and anatomically correct (unlike some of the tackier examples out there) it’s surely the perfect Halloween centre piece? A limited edition, reservations will open on the 02 October and you’ll have to collect from Eat Your Heart Out. Contact Two Little Cats for more information…
PS: Don’t hang about as I have already reserved 2
Miss Insomnia Tulip is one of those super talented people who just don’t get how ground breaking their work really is. Sure people have made rabbits, teddy bears and even heart shaped macarons before but she is the first person I have seen really take the humble macaron to the next level in terms of presentation. Something she had previously done with cake pops such as these blow up doll ones and the now infamous Leveson Inquiry set.
Beyond excited at being able to sell such jaw dropping macaron based anatomical delights at our shop (forget places like Fortnum & Masons we are THE place to go for Halloween treats). When Miss IT starting painting on macarons I loved the innovation of it (I am a macaron fiend and normally use my friend Ross as an excuse to buy them whenever his band is playing in London), and am slightly staggered at how the boundaries of creativity with macs continue to be pushed and broken by her astonishing talent. Remember these are all created using traditional macaron mixture…
You can see below some of the range she will be selling at EYHO, both in full sets such as hearts, and in organ specific packs. Have a feeling you’ll need to get there early if you want to get your bloody hands on any of these for your Halloween party.
Oh and she will also be selling things such as this ‘Small Pox Surprise’ – White Chocolate Rocky Road Traybake with Pistachio, Jelly Fruits, Macadamia Nuts and Chocolate Chips. Who knew deadly diseases could be so tasty!
