The last images we can share of The Helpers project open to the public on the 18th January – this cake from Conjurer’s Kitchen is absolutely delicious but do you have the stomach to find that out for yourself. If not we may just have one going spare…
High concept art cocktail maker James Dance is also serving up his gross looking but tasty drinks including the ‘Vomit’ cocktail shown below. He will try and blame me at some point for his twisted creations but I can assure you they are ALL his idea. To be fair it is a perfect fit with some of the cakes on offer though – believe me when I say the cakes we have shared so far are relatively tame!
I mean who does not want to feast on the (rum cake) corpse of a bloated, green and riddled with maggots Kraken… Hope a lot of you will be comming to see (and eat) the corpse at Feed The Beast next week!

The Kraken Rum Edible Autopsy
Feast On The Corpse of a Kraken 9 Miles Out to Sea
24 days until Eat Your Heart Out 2013 – Feed The Beast supported by The Kraken Rum – and we already have a contender for the most disturbing cupcakes you’ll see all year. These maggot extraction beauties from Twisted Fondant are the only cupcakes I have seen to date which make me feel physically sick, destined to be a smash hit then especially as they come with tweezers, gloves and all you need to freak out your friends. They will be exclusively on sale at the THIRD (!!!) ever Eat Your Heart Out pop up cake shop to be held at The Rag Factory, just off Brick Lane, London. Oh and don’t forget before the cake shop there is also the incredible Edible Autopsy and pop up rum bar on the Redsand Forts (for invited guests only I am afraid).
On Friday 13th September a 30ft long tentacle was recovered from Port Meirion beach by an intrepid ‘Kraken Hunter’, and taken to The Kraken Rum tent at Festival No. 6 where it was served to hungry festival goers as means of disposal. This is the first time in living memory detailed examination of Kraken anatomy has taken place with food artists, The Tattooed Bakers, identifying the flesh as a rich spiced dark rum soaked fruit cake.
Wearing full protective clothing, the Kraken Hunter then proceeded to serve the remains to a hungry crowd who had witnessed the recovery of the tentacle earlier in the day. Legend has it eating the flesh of Kraken will leave those who consumed it with special powers and a distinguished taste in rum.
What is more further remains of the Kraken (a beast previously thought to be mythological) have been recovered by UK based ‘Kraken Hunters UK’, a The Kraken Rum supported organization only for the most brave and intrepid individuals. Large chunks of flesh, including an intact football sized eyeball, have been found in the Thames Estuary with an autopsy scheduled to find out more.

I commissioned these David Lynch cake pops from Miss Insomnia Tulip as a thank you to our Bastille client (non edible styling job – http://www.misscakehead.com). As always she manages to totally nail the brief in her own way – creating edible bites of pop culture in a way I have not seen anyone else do. What can I say, the girl is food artist to be reckoned with!
The Conjurer’s Kitchen is on fire at the moment, and I mean that in a good way rest so assured it’s not that her cakes are being burnt!!! Her vision enables her to revisit old classics such as the chocolate skulls and give them a unique never seen before twist. So looking forward to working with her throughout 2013, first up The Helpers DVD pop up on the 17th January where she will be creating something truly horrifying! Whilst it would seem obvious to create skulls inspired buy the Ossuary of the Chapel of St.Michael to my knowledge no one has thought of it before, and that’s what gives CK the edge. Plus of course her skill to execute it personally. You can buy a fully personalised skull on the EYHO shop here.
I am pretty sure these urgh but medically correct cupcakes from Sarah Hardy will be one of the top sellers at EYHO this year. Educational and gross it’s hard to think of a better Halloween cupcake, and besides spiders, witches, cats, pumpkins, ghost and all the other cake decorating cliches are banned!
Another amazing creation for Eat Your Heart Out, this time from the Conjurer’s Kitchen – WOW is all I have to say.
Based on various real Anatomical Veni, and the final addition to the Cake for Breakfast Chocolate Victorian Pharmacy, is this AMAZING creation from Chris. Approx. 750g of white high quality chocolate; for sale as a set in a limited edition at Eat Your Heart Out 2012. Contact Cake for Breakfast to find our more or order directly. A text book example of where confectionery becomes art, am not sure I could bear to eat her.
More inspired cake pops from Miss Insomnia Tulip >> as usual ridiculously good. This set of four is inspired by ‘Women in Horror’, Blair Witch is my favourite if I had to choose.
